Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office has earned her an Emmy nod for the best supporting Actress category and she also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Jenna was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was attracted by her mother's church performances at the time she started her journey.
After wrapping up The Office, Fischer, an actress trained in theater, returned to her home base. In Off-Broadway's play Reasons To Be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was a part of. In the Old Globe Theatre's world premiere, She starred opposite Greg Germann as well as Josh Stamberg in Steve Martin's absurdist comedy Meteor Shower.
In the month of October, Fischer and The Office actor and friend Angela Kinsey started an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since gained immense popularity, settling on the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads in the first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored by Angela Kinsey) In it, her journey between St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is narrated.
