April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4, 1995) started her journey in music at the age of 7 when she took piano and guitar classes. April Lockhart composed her first single"Different" at 12 years old. When she was 14 April spent a lot of her day creating and playing with songs. Then, in the following months, April began to travel with her dad as well as write her songs at home in NY or LA. April also included additional topics in her song, Take my Hand. These topics were meant for the friends of hers who struggled with things like peer pressure issues or even teenage suicide thoughts. Lockhart works in partnerships at the well-known Clean Beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle blogger with her own growing following. As a woman born with no left hand, Lockhart is an important part of herself. But it's not her entire story. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not ignore her being disabled, but neither does it make a point of it. It's a message. We are all more than our physical selves. The identities we have are complex and encompass a variety of elements. Lockhart said via video that she does not want to be defined solely by her handicap. She does not want to become an advocate for disabled people who only speaks about it. There are many aspects of Lockhart. This doesn't interfere with my life. Everything is normal and I have learned to adjust. In addition, I see it a very important component of my life. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. However, she acknowledges going through phases of her body, at times, feeling insecure to wear specific types of clothes which showed how much of her body. She wears what she likes and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she chooses on social platforms. The self-love she talks about is a journey. I'm not sure whether you'll get to the end. However, I believe that's the case with everyone with whatever their insecurity is. I think it is important to be surrounded by individuals who truly understand your.
